Question: When you were talking in this video, I heard a high pitched hiss coming through the 57. I have been having a similar issue whenever I record drums or vocals through the Tascam. My gain isn't up either. Would you happen to know a possible solution to that?

Hey, it's 2024: Anyone still watching this, note that this gentleman is putting the microphone into a line level input at the back. That is not how mics work. It is supposed to be inserted into one of the 8 mic level inputs in the front. The only time you'd use a line level input for a mic is if you already have that mic running through an external preamp - like an LA610 - that you then want to run through the interface. Live and learn. :) Granted, it's not a condenser but a dynamic mic, so no phantom power is required. But you need input gain and that is only available at the front end.

Great video. I own this amp and love it so much. The 6V6 failed many years back and I replaced it with a military grade Russian 6V6 and it improved the clean tone. It still breaks up nicely but my main objective was to make it a pedal platform. The attenuation and high/low power modes are great for home use, but this amp would still work perfectly live.

What does the volume knob do when your on the ultra input?

I recently bought a FFINE USB microphone. Is it possible to amplify my guitar sound if I use this N5? for use at home. Normally I would need a amplifier right? thhx

I own a head, pumping thru a h&k closed back 12 with a celestion v30, playing in a small club, it can keep up with a moderate acoustic drummer, playing the classics...the trick with this amp, and i use only the clean channel, is that the maximum clean headroom, aka, nice loud clean, and pedal platform, is opposite from traditional amp setup. With the clean volume and watts all the way to the right, dimed, it is at it's cleanest, and loudest, and an awesome pedal platform. As you roll back on the watts knob, it starts to sag and break up. Really kickin amp straight up for a bargain. Bought mine used for $200usd, and the seller threw in an el84 w/vht adapter, 2 eh el34's of different designation, a 6l6, and 2 different 6v6s. Ive played Casino gigs, micd up of course, and the stage volume and feel held its own, playing with 2nd guitar, keys, or horns. I keep looking for an excuse to buy something bigger, but this really does it all.

This is definitely going to be my next amp! I love the sound you're getting out of it. There's just no substitute for that real tube sound. I've watched your other videos on this amp, and all I can say is great demonstrations on this amp! You've really helped me make up my mind on getting this amp!

I still have the Veyron bv000t amp head, but didn't like the matching 2x10; kind of wish I woul've kept the 1x15, but the 2x10 did sound flat or cold to me...but the 1x15 had good warmth, strange but true. They had just bought TurboSound when these were made, a manufacturer of PA system speakers, and TBH that's exacly what the 2x10 sounded like - it didn't sound like a bass cab, it sounded like you're playing through some generic PA speakers! I have a Peavey PVH212 cab now & its great. Oh, I bought the cabs from a sponsored artist, and FWIW, he said the continuous RMS is between 600-700 watts...

I love it! That's definitely going to be my next amp head. You just can't beat the all tube preamp section, and the sound of it, and it's features for it's price. I'm going to pull the trigger on one of these soon!

Hi .... Few years ago I went to US and bought the same pream for my bass, but I couldn' t use on the mixer... The mixer operator told me that was a lot of noise when the gain was increased. Do you know any solution for this issue?? thanks for all (Semi from Brazil).
